Our mission
We aim to help U.S. readers understand emergency department listings and practical hospital-navigation information without pretending to offer medical expertise. Accuracy and avoiding harm matter more than article volume.
Medical safety comes first
We do not write symptom-checker articles, diagnose conditions, infer safety from symptoms, or recommend treatment. We direct readers to 911 for suspected emergencies and to qualified professionals for individual medical decisions. Clinically sensitive guides require appropriate qualified review before publication.
Directory facts and their limits
Facility details may originate from public datasets, including U.S. government sources. Each imported dataset has its own definitions, coverage, and update cycle. A facility record is not proof of a live, open emergency department or available beds. We do not present historical total-visit measures as current wait-to-provider estimates.
Source priorities
- Primary official sources, such as CMS, Medicare, the IRS, HHS, and public hospital data documentation, for the topics they govern.
- Hospital-owned pages for hospital-specific policies, billing contacts, service descriptions, and records procedures.
- Other reputable materials to explain terminology, clearly marked as secondary sources.
Anonymous forums may reveal questions patients ask. They should not be used as proof of medical or legal facts.
Dates, verification, and updates
Guides should show an updated date and a next-review target, normally within 90 days when policy or directory information may change. Dates must reflect real review work, not automated changes. Broken links, materially changed policies, and safety issues should be corrected as soon as they are verified.
Clear writing rules
We use short paragraphs, simple terms, clear headings, and meaningful links. Where readers need a checklist, we provide one. Articles avoid false certainty and explain which facts vary by location or insurer. Authors distinguish official rules from examples.
Corrections
Readers may report errors through the contact form. Include the page URL and official supporting information. We review public-impact errors first, especially incorrect location information, incorrect emergency rights, misleading wait-time descriptions, and broken financial assistance links.
Independence and advertising
Any ads displayed are separate from editorial information. We do not sell hospital rankings. A directory listing is not an endorsement of a facility or evidence of superior care.
What we do not promise
We do not guarantee every record is complete, every external link is current, or every hospital service is available. Our work is informational only. See the medical disclaimer for important limits.
